SUPERMAN AND SUPER PLANS
In my childhood, I watched the original Adventures of Superman on TV. In my imagination, Superman could do almost anything. However, he had a weakness and each episode brought to light how Superman had to cope with his weakness to bring about good.
This year has been a vivid reminder of how weaknesses impact our lives. In the midst of good health, the virus has compromised the immune system and general wellbeing of many. Many businesses have struggled and some have closed their doors. Even churches and other ministries are regrouping and creatively doing things in different ways. Some have been forced to merge with other ministries, and others are simply no longer around. These are weaknesses we never imagined.
Change makes us vulnerable. We grow accustomed to certain order and rhythms in life. We go places on certain, times, days or weeks. There are seasons that we do certain things. These changes have impacted us more than we think and they continue to prey on our mental wellbeing.
Scripture is always a good place to turn in times of vulnerability, change and weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 states, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” This is good news! Am I asking for God’s power over the weaknesses in my life? Even Superman could have benefitted from the power of prayer!
In recent months, we have spoken with many friends who have reviewed their estate plans and found weaknesses. Some of these plans were created long ago and are no longer suited to a client’s current needs and the current times. Some friends tried to formulate estate plans without professional help and found them lacking when they were needed most. For some, the weakness was having no plan at all!
We hope you will join us on Facebook this Sunday evening at 6 pm EDT as part of our series on “Virus Proofing Our Documents”. We will hear firsthand testimony from a COVID survivor who put together a strong plan that held up under the stresses of life. This webinar is hosted by the Southeast Regional Conference, but is open to all. A strong plan that invites Christ to work in and through it can make all the difference.
