IN MEMORIUM
This week we pause to remember two gentlemen who were vital to the ministry and growth of FMF Financial Services. Both Evan Collins and Melvin Spencer served in many ways to further God’s kingdom work through the Free Methodist denomination. We are grateful that each was willing to lend his expertise to FMF Financial Services. We are a better organization because of the involvement of these two gentlemen. We praise God for their lives and look forward to a heavenly reunion!
Evan R. Collins (1937-2022) served on FMF’s Board of Directors for 15 years. He used his vast investment and financial management experience to chair our Investment Committee. His professional expertise will continue to guide FMF’s investment policies and procedures for years to come. His home church (Free Methodist Church of Santa Barbara) wrote, “Evan devoted his life to his family, to building the Kingdom of God, to mentoring the next generation of leaders, and to sharing his gift of financial management with many organizations.” To view Evan’s obituary, please CLICK HERE.
Melvin J. Spencer (1923-2022) drafted the original Articles of Incorporation for The Free Methodist Foundation in 1987. He was part of a group of men who had served on FMCUSA’s Investment Committee for many years; that group became the nucleus of FMF’s Board of Directors. Melvin was FMF’s first chairman and served in that role for 11 years. Today FMF’s board chair is David Goodnight, Melvin’s son-in-law. To view Melvin’s obituary, please CLICK HERE.
